Everyone person alive has gossiped about another person at one time or the other. We did it on the playground as young children .often our talk about another person behind his/her back is very cruel. However, however I choose many years ago to stop the habit of gossip. I decided that if I was truly going to follow Christ, I would not say anything, anytime, behind any persons back, that I would not say it to his /her face and I made a further commitment that if I heard a story about someone, I would not re tell it, but if I was concerned, I would take it to the person that the story was about., and what a decision and blessing was triggered . no wonder prov26.20(NIV)says, without wood a fire goes out , without a gossip a quarrel dies down, the amplified bible put it thus, for lack of wood, the fire goes out and where there is no whisperer, contention ceases , if what you will say about anybody, who is physically ,absents not positive KEEP YOUR MOUTH SHUT. Gossip is the wood that fuels bitterness! Gossip is a road block to your jubilee! A fire (poison)is released each time you gossip others! The poison created is within the gossiper – not the one being gossiped about. To harkens to evil conversation is the road to wickedness.
